Srinagar, Dec 27 (KNO): On the occasion of the 814th Urs of Sultan-ul-Hind, Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (RA), Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq paid heartfelt tribute to the revered Sufi saint.
In his tribute, Mirwaiz honored Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (RA) as a figure whose life constitutes “an illustrious chapter in the spiritual history of the subcontinent.”
He emphasized the saint’s ‘unparalleled services in spreading the message of Islam,’ which he said was nurtured in a spirit of ‘spirituality, compassion and selfless service to humanity.’
“On the 814th Urs of Sultan-ul-Hind Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (RA), I pay heartfelt tribute to the great Sufi saint whose life and mission remain an illustrious chapter in the spiritual history of the subcontinent,” reads the statement.
Mirwaiz in the statement also said “Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (RA) rendered unparalleled services in spreading the message of Islam, nurturing its spirit rooted in spirituality, compassion and selfless service to humanity.”
“Historians record that nearly nine million people embraced Islam through his efforts.
In today’s climate of intolerance and division, it would do the world great good to revisit his life and teachings of equality, peace and human dignity that will be the truest tribute to his noble mission,” it reads.—(KNO)
